So one of the products of The Charlotte Observer (the company I work for) is charlottefive.com, a site I sometimes submit stories to. It’s pretty cool—you get five stories in your inbox meant to get you Charlotte smart super quick. Most of what I write for them is lifestyle focused, things like new bars and their cocktail menus, or new breweries opening up. Today, I was included in a story they published. Evidently there are a large number of Katies out there, specifically in Charlotte. One of the editors of C5 is a Katie. So they’re holding a KatieCon on Thursday. I was mentioned as one of Charlotte’s prominent Katies. It was pretty awesome. I audibly laughed in my office.
Also in today’s C5 was a recap by one of my writers about the event that I attended last Wednesday about food and community. Check it out for better pictures than mine, and more in-depth commentary.
Even if you don’t live in Charlotte, it’s worth it to sign up for the newsletter. They run some pretty great stories.
